Acupuncture is a safe & effective treatment to perform alone or alongside other treatments including therapy, injections & surgery. Two main forms, energetic and regenerative. In the energetic model, meridian points are utilized to facilitate the flow of energy channels that help restore the body. In the regenerative model needling stimulates the tissue in the region of pain & this causes the body to respond with a healing response like when you first have an injury.
A nutritionist for autoimmune disease specializes in creating tailored dietary plans to support individuals with autoimmune conditions.
More popularly known as Botox, Botulinum Toxin injection blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles, allowing the muscles to relax and lengthen. This procedure is used cosmetically to temporarily reduce wrinkles and other signs of aging, but it is also commonly used for migraines and other forms of muscle tightness.
Real time diagnostic ultrasound helps your practitioner see the injury dynamically. It can be more accurate than an MRI for the diagnosis of soft tissue injuries such as rotator cuff tear or tennis elbow. With an ultrasound board certified physician, you can expect to go over results immediately & ask questions about treatment options.
The Feldenkrais Method helps you to unlearn movement habits that are no longer useful. You effortlessly acquire new, better habits that help you to move more freely and restore your body’s optimum comfort and function.
Lidocaine is an intravenous infusion used for chronic pain, with minimal side effects. Ketamine infusion is also used intravenously to treat neurologic pain. Both are becoming increasingly more common in Pain medicine.
Medication works best when patients know what they’re for. As in all aspects of your care, we will collaborate closely with you on the choice and management of any medications.
We offer a variety of central and peripheral neurostimulator options. Some are temporary with long term effects, others are longer term treatment options. Both peripheral and spinal cord stimulation intercepts signals to the brain that indicate pain. A pacemaker-like device is implanted onto the body and sends signals to the spinal cord. This procedure is useful for those with chronic back, leg, or arm pain.
Opioid and opiate pain medications (such as morphine, dilaudid, oxycodone, fentanyl, methadone, etc.) have been used for thousands of years to treat chronic pain.
Chronic pain can be a source of depression, anxiety, frustration, fatigue, poor work performance and concentration, and relationship difficulties.
Peripheral Joint Injections are used to relieve painful inflamed joints. An anti-inflammatory corticosteroid is injected into the affected joint. Improvement of symptoms is usually seen within two days.
Peripheral Nerve Blocks are used for pain originating from a nerve, a condition also known as neuralgia. Nerve injury can be caused by trauma, compression, ischemia, or toxic exposure. A local anesthetic is injected with a steroid to stop pain along the nerve.
Prolotherapy - short for Proliferation Therapy - stimulates proliferation, or growth, of fibroblasts and increases collagen production.
Regenerative medicine gives the possibility of creating pain relief while avoiding surgery. Prolotherapy, in particular, is used for ligament and tendon reconstruction, to ease the pain in joints. Platelet-rich plasma therapy is also used to alleviate inflammation, and speed up the healing of injuries.
-Platelet Rich Plasma
-Prolotherapy
-Bone Marrow Aspirate (BMAC)
-Percutaneous Tenotomy
-Nerve Hydrodissection
Spinal injections are used both for relieving pain at the injection point, and for diagnosing the location of pain in other parts of the body. Epidurals are often used to relieve lower back pain. In administering an epidural, the doctor uses X-ray imaging to guide the needle – a method called fluoroscopy.
Suboxone ® or Zubsolv ® therapy may be helpful for patients on pain medications who are experiencing opioid dependence, either from addiction or chronic pain.
Trigger point injections help relieve muscle pain at specific locations. Trigger points are the "knots" you feel in your muscles – one particular spot that constantly hurts. A simple injection procedure follows.
The ultrasound-guided injection is a safe, minimally invasive procedure for musculoskeletal pain conditions (tendinitis, bursitis, neuritis, etc.). Ultrasound imaging allows the doctor to see the needle as it is directed toward the injection point – inside a joint, for example.
